About the greatest film director of all time, this large 543 page book edited by Alison Castle is truly amazing.
Split into two sections, the first half of the book consists of stills only, all in their original aspect ratio, beautifully laid out and covering films from Killer’s Kiss through to Eye’s Wide Shut.
The second half of the book covers the same films but delves into the actual creative process of each film, everything from the initial ideas, the shoot, the post-production and the aftermath is covered. It finishes with information gathered about his unfinished A.I and Napoleon projects.
The book was put together with the help of Kubrick’s wife Christiane, producer Jan Harlan and The Stanley Kubrick Estate and so features many, many wonderful pictures of Kubrick himself.
